| DESIGN NAME: Tune PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting INSPIRATION: My intention was to design a dynamic product and expected that its conformity with its space should create a better corretation between the user. By doing that the product was supposed to act like an object where it was exhibited. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Light source can be diverged by its rotative arms and can be formed depending on the volume, characteristics and relations with its surroundings. Beacuse of it’s changing ability, various illumintaion functions are possible. E.g. Can be use on lower levels or frontal usage Dimmed LED Hand made Both arms are balanced OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Turns on and off on a single button. Can be dimmed if pressed continuous on the same button. Noticable even at dark by its self illuminated LED button. . You can manually arrange arm directions as you desire or rechange. Can be utilized indoor anywhere you wish. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Tune Project Started in 2016 October in Antalya, partly produced in Istanbul and finished in February 2017 in Antalya. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Copper, acrylic paint and glass are it’s major charachteristics. Hand made, dimmable, 18W LED light. Amber red, orange and 2200K combination was targeted to form an harmony. Each arm is balanced in its own. No extra fixing is required to maintain it stable. Not rotatable more than 1 tour. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Lenght: 21.5cm (8.4”) Width: 21.5cm (8.4”) Height: 118,5cm (46.6”) 18W Dimmable LED Copper, frosted glass, acryclic wet paint, brass main stucture, acrylic parts... TAGS: Contemporary, Light, Copper, Handmade, Cuk. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I have examined various illumination designs as per usage senario and sustainability. Studied product’s components as well as productivity related with structural and movable parts. Got contact with leading academic illumination experts and participated their lectures. These lectures opened a wide horizon on light forms. Their properties, physical and/or their psycological influences on users. CHALLENGE: Beacuse the possibilities for a better product were limited in my city, i was obliged to continue some parts completion in Istanbul. That caused a little delay in final formation of this prototype and of existing products. I faced difficulty particularly for that unique products LED lamp form. Working hard and practising too many alternatives, has finally brought success by collaborating with a reputable light company.
