| DESIGN NAME: Picasso PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chaise Lounge INSPIRATION: This Chaise Lounge belongs to the Picasso collection that tries to captivate the spectator's sight by surprising by the unusual of its forms and angles created from randomly chosen forms, its symmetry contrasts with the power of its unexpected forms. It is a piece of furniture that will surely attract the eyes and give great personality to any space. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Structure in solid Tzalam wood with engineering foam in 3 layers of different softness and density, for maximum comfort. It has a system of reinforcements with mortise and tenon joints and finishes by hand. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The purpose of this furniture with great personality is to bring to any space a place to interact in a very relaxed way between two people; face to face and lying in the style of the great Roman festivities. Being a very comfortable furniture for romance and relaxation in coexistence, it can also serve as an individual resting place that communicates astonishment and a stylish vision. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Started in November 2016 and finished July 2017 in the design prototype laboratory of G. Rios furniture and design in Merida, Mexico. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Leather or fine fabrics combined with elastic engineer support. Handmade and hand painted, Tzalam solid wood, and engineer multiple layer foam seating. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Tzalam Wood, High Density Foam, Premium Leather or Fabric. 2840mm W x 1050mm D x 670mm H TAGS: Organic Furniture, Stylish Furniture, Modern Furniture, Vintage RESEARCH ABSTRACT: A synthesis of large numbers of lithographs by the painter Pablo Picasso was carried out to subtract some isolated forms and concepts of communication that were translated in forms that inspire the same ideology. Trying to challenge to the subconscious to be revealed to the traditional thing and to allow a bold creative mentality that is the subconscious purpose of the designs. CHALLENGE: The extension and size of this piece made a study of resistance in the materials necessary to make the piece both functional and durable. The design of the foam system and the execution of the upholstery were planned through several prototypes to achieve the comfort and aesthetics sought.
