| DESIGN NAME: The Way of Philosophy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Condo INSPIRATION: Living embodies the philosophy of life and aesthetics. Thus the designer tries to create a metaphorical beauty from the division of spaces, reshaping the spaces with coldness of marble juxtaposing warmth of wood veneer, so as to integrate a spatial imagery of the contraction and expansion into the householders' thoughts. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Inspired by the motional and the motionless of the oriental philosophy, the designer partially separates the entrance, living room, and dining room, but maintains the continuity of space with the connection of materials by extending the marble texture from the entrance to living room and the wood veneer from hallway to dining room. For bedrooms, soft materials replace the cold marble to present the tenderness of spaces, also symbolize the householders’ progressive relaxation into the private realm. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2016 and finished in April 2017 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For the living and dining room, the designer selects environment-friendly construction materials, with their natural lines and grains to create the artistic quality of the wall surface, and their toughness would be balanced by the greenery extending from indoor to the balcony.
