| DESIGN NAME: Yoga 730 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Laptop computer INSPIRATION: Today many laptops can fold backwards into a tablet, but their designs are centered around laptop mode usage, and look misaligned when folded into a tablet. Our vision was to create a device that is equally comfortable as a tablet or a laptop, and maintains its form integrity in any mode- a true multi-mode device. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The sleek, minimal form of the YOGA 730 presents one of the simplest, most pure laptop designs available. Ultra slim display borders around a comparably large screen enable users who need more viewing area to stick with the travel friendly 13” footprint. Weighing only 2.7 lbs, the 730 is a joy to hold one-handed in tablet mode. When the YOGA 730 folds into tablet mode the top edge of the screen lines up perfectly with the edge of the bottom half, creating one cohesive form. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The body of the 730 is crafted from stamped sheet aluminum. After stamping, the aluminum body is sand blasted and anodized. The polished, color-matched logo rests flush with the lid of the laptop inside a CNC-machined recess.
