| DESIGN NAME: Boucle PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bench INSPIRATION: The bench is inspired by the old wooden toys from the beginning of the last century, where small houses were assembled with overlapping pieces. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is a bench for home and corporate use, made from multilayered walnut veneers, thermoformed in aluminum mold and naturally cooled. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Bench use restricted its functions (sit), without transformations or adaptations, interacts like any loose mobile. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in March 2016 and concluded in October 2016, the entire process in Antonio Prado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Multilayered navel veneers coated in walnut laminate, thermoformed in aluminum molds, with interior made in satin paint finish. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Measures: 45 x 242 x 42.5cm TAGS: architecture, innovation, strength, stability, plastic RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research involved a work of affective and playful memory of old wooden toys, where small houses were assembled by composition of these small pieces. Performing in fact makes the project unexpected and surprising. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to make the sides of the seats extend from the accent by forming a smooth, continuous loop, as well as giving the necessary structural backing.
