| DESIGN NAME: FN-3 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sunglasses INSPIRATION: PROJEKT PRODUKT has created a collection with one theme every season. This theme is Funk so the designer wanted to express retro and the meaning within Funk, which related to an original funk. Funk has become a culture that is loved by anyone. It was a decisive factor that really touched our heart. We wanted people to feel PROJEKT PRODUKT own funk with variety of color types and structure beauty by lines. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The slim frame of a metallic wire is simple and unique but not excessive. Metal is a structure that hides the lens of the rim and the screw holds it from both ends and also they are firm and light. Regardless of gender, it's a colorful design that people can feel different atmosphere depending on lens colors. FN-3 is made of titanium, it's excellent to wear. Feel modern and the things we pursue and our theme which is funk(retro) through the metal lines. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: PROJEKT PRODUKT is a eyewear brand founded by optometrists and designers with their philosophy and sensitivity, which lets everyone be able to find their own styles among fast-changing fashion trends. It works on projects with muses and artists to suggest new directions into fashionable eyewear in every collection and there is always particular theme in every project. Addition to a traditional concept, they put modern concept into frames, contents and products to let people view, hear and feel to lead them to be able to see their own concept and culture. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: PROJEKT PRODUKT was established in 2014. The theme in 2014 is Modern Rock chic. The theme in 2015 is Modern Classic. The theme in 2016 is Glam. The theme in 2017 is Kitsch. The theme in 2018 is Funk (FN-3 is included in this category). |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: PROJEKT PRODUKT was founded by optometrists. The C.E.O named Mr.Lee used to be an optometrist before. So he has a very high standard and very selective in terms of design and quality. Especially, majority of Korean Eyewear brands are being manufactured frames in China, while our items are made in Korea. As the material of FN-3 is titanium, IP plating was really important. If IP plating has a problem, people may have problems on skins. Since we don't want to miss both wearability and technical skills, titanium was used. Even though we're taking a risk, we put more efforts to have superior frames continually. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 57*15*148 TAGS: PROJEKT PRODUKT, FASHION, SUNGLASSES, GLASSES, DESIGN, EYEWEAR RESEARCH ABSTRACT: One day, the C.E.O named Mr.Lee raised a question why Korea has no well-known eyewear brands. They wanted to let the world the excellence of Korean eyewear so they decided to establish a brand named PROJEKT PRODUKT. Rather than profit, they more look forward to new challenges. All the times, they do the best to communicate with different people to get information regarding fit, design, material and trend. Therefore, every new collection has been improved. In our design laboratory, the design team researches and discusses to have an amazing design. All collections and various lens are displayed at there. They have a presentation day once a week in order to share their thinking with all members. They give feedback to each other so that they bring about good results. CHALLENGE: It's hard to express their own identity all the times with one theme every season. Especially, in the middle of design, countless trial and errors made us tired. However, whenever they get amazing results, it's our driving force for a new project.
