Spatial Structural Ring by Harsha Jayasankar

Home > Winners > #60759

DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Spatial

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Structural Ring

INSPIRATION:
Having had a strong foundation of Architecture, I have always had this inclination towards geometry and structure. The idea was to come up with a bold, edgy ring. The design reflects the will power and hope of a creative person who may be struggling to break away from the stereotypes created by external factors or his/her own mindset (metal structure), still shining (druzy) from within. This is one of my initial (and one of the most favorite) designs as a Jewelry Designer.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The design incorporates a metal frame structure in which the druzy is held in such a way that there is emphasis on both the stone as well as the metal frame structure. The structure is quite open and makes sure that the stone is the star of the design. It is bold, edgy and wearable.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Two finger ring that is easily wearable

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Duration: Designed and Executed in September 2014 Location: Mumbai, India

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Materials: 18k gold plated brass Blue & White druzy

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Two finger ring Ring size 6 & 7

TAGS:
geometry, structure, ring, product design, jewelry, fashion jewelry, architecture

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
nil

CHALLENGE:
The creative challenge was to make sure that the metal structure did not overpower the stone and that has been clearly accomplished.

I am so impressed with the design of this structural ring! Its bold and edgy style really stands out and makes a statement. The combination of the druzy stone and the metal frame structure is so unique and creates a beautiful contrast. It's clear that a lot of thought and care went into this design to make the stone the star of the show. I love how open the structure is, making it the perfect piece of wearable art. This is an amazing design and an incredible achievement. Congratulations to the designer behind this amazing work!

Wow, this beautiful structural ring is a true depiction of creativity and strength. The designer has brilliantly captured the idea of breaking away from the stereotypes and still shining from within with the metal structure and druzy. This work is a perfect example of how a creative person can express their willpower and hope. It is amazing to see how the designer has utilized geometry and structure to create such a bold and edgy piece of jewelry. This is truly a remarkable achievement and deserves to be celebrated!
