DESIGN NAME: Ukrainian Institute of Fashion History
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Website
INSPIRATION: I have seen a lot of different Ukrainian national clothing, they were different but there was no specific place to see the area where this style was appear initially. Ukrainian history and culture is very rich and nobody cares about past Ukrainian fashion. The website was developed, to show the boldness of national roots and imagination.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Ukrainian Institute of Fashion History was designed to show the unique Ukrainian clothing culture. This website shows the initiative of group of designers to keep the national clothing history alive, to make it popular between our nation.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The website should be simple to navigate. When you're visiting a website you'll see the last projects of Ukrainian Institute. Then if you want to dive deep you can open each project and see a specific period, description and photos of project's clothing style. When you open a project named "Spadok" you can see the full map of different Ukrainian clothing styles and where they have been rooted.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2016 and finished in February 2017 in Ukraine.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: There was a design and brand reserach of what the Ukrainian design is. To show the strenth of Ukrainian culture, it's stand and life-affirming firstly I developed the logo. This logo was created based on simple grid to provide a rectangular form which makes the idea stronger.
Next I dived into design based on the inspiration from developing this logo. I've empathised the soul of pictures provided by Glib Zagoriy Foundation and brought them into this design.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This website should work on any screen to be able to be shown on any screen dimension.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I used to have the moodboard for this project. Initially I developed a simple moodboard to see the values we can bring into this design. There was a lot of photos of models taken wearing Ukrainian clothing and they had a bold look. I decided to proceed into this direction of design searching for references in different clothing stores. By having clear vision of what would be in the end, I brought all of this in the final design.
CHALLENGE: The solution I wanted to design should be simple to use and understand. Like interactive Wikipedia or online magazine. Everything should work to inform the visitor about Ukrainian history. On the website I took many perspectives from the past interaction experience and brought it into this magazine.
