| DESIGN NAME: Interlace Pattern PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cuff Bracelet INSPIRATION: Current design is an elegant cuff bracelet inspired by the Islamic interlace pattern in an artistic presentation. The Islamic interlace patterns are combination of simple geometric designs, frequent lines and shapes which tend to avoid using figurative images. In this cuff bracelet design, repeated polygons are interlacing to form intricate and complex pattern. Beauty as the balance between simplicity and complexity is implicit in this elegant cuff bracelet, with an intricate minimalist approach. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This cuff bracelet includes complex interlace polygons, never losing their geometric nature, implicating beauty of God. These interlace polygons seem to extend to infinity, reflecting infinity of God. The stunning cuff bracelet is a meditative design, expressing fathomless nature of God. These polygons patterns are eye catching, and tempting anyone to discovery and provokes the curiosity to take an interest in learning about them. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A spectacular cuff bracelet was designed for women. A unique design with the Islamic architecture history and full of geometric background was modeled. This cuff bracelet will be operated with 3D printers and ready for casting process. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The bracelet was designed in Baltimore, MD, USA. It might be produced in near future. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This cuff bracelet was designed using 3D CAD software. It is ready for 3D printing and casting. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The size of this cuff bracelet is medium. Maximum width is 27 mm. The inner diameter of bracelet is 62 mm. The pipes diameters are 0.9 mm and gems are 0.018 ct. TAGS: Islamic interlace Pattern, Geometric Pattern, Cuff Bracelet, Infinity RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Geometry has always been a great source of interest and fascination to me. Geometry inspired me as it includes intuitive appeal in very simple way. As a jewelry designer with engineering background, I tried to create a design including both geometry and art elements. Variety of geometric patterns can be found in the Islamic art. Thus, I designed spectacular cuff bracelet inspired by the Islamic interlace pattern. This design includes polygon shape and geometric pattern with simple ornament. CHALLENGE: Modeling the interlace pattern cuff bracelet is full of geometric concepts. It is so challenging to adjust interlaced arrays. The model might need some modification using Autodesk Netfabb software.
