DESIGN NAME: The Spatial Magic
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design
INSPIRATION: As the consideration of the path for customers' shopping experiences, the designer separated two areas to define the whole space. The first area is dedicated to display the variety of brand products; the second area is dedicated to display the classic brand products. Both areas can be featured by different spatial atmosphere respectively, which can expand the visual experience by artistic strategies and attract all the customers successfully.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a renovation project of boutique store located in a famous department store in Taipei, and this boutique store is mainly aimed to serve the female customers. Because the location is in the hustle and bustle urban section, the exhibition campaigns of brand new fashionable products in this boutique can definitely attract a lot of young people who are eager to follow the fashion trend.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This project is like a splendid runway to present the unique commercial space with magnificent atmosphere in the intense fashion market.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in 2016 in Taichung City, Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The designer's concept was derived from the female's mental state of dressing up process, which is a kind of self-conversation state that wants to radiate the dazzling light just like a charming diamond. Therefore, in the first area, the composition of different mirrors with different spotlight effects can generate a sort of spatial rhythm to add up mysterious feelings for the purple carpet, and define a lively atmosphere for this space as well. The long curtain is a metaphor of the princess's graceful gown waving in the space, which can generate a sort of fantastic atmosphere.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is 3627 square meters.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the second area of the classic brands with a lot of new fashionable products, this area needs to be a stage for young fashion designers to release the newest fashionable ideas. The irregular line connections from different pairs of points just like expanding ribbons can compose the main showcases. The special light belt is made up by the irregular line structures with elaborate lighting design.
CHALLENGE: This spatial strategy is a metaphor of the splendid jewels and stars, which can brighten up the young designers' most fashionable products that are presented into the stage of fashion market and leading the trend. The backdrop of the space is plain gray concrete with the wooden grille in waving shape, which can enhance the contrast effect with the main showcases. This is a metaphor for expressing the eternity value in changeable fashion market. The whole space with dramatic and contrasting features can express the unique spatial style to perform the nature of fashion design.
