DESIGN NAME: Dreams. The Bread
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bakery Design
INSPIRATION: The feeling is kind of a marriage of Paris and Shanghai, by way of old Hong Kong. There is a vague timelessness and placelessness to the character of Dreams. Inspired by the its green-tea bread flavours, the bakery is coated in green for its base color and cubed bread, with dashes of red, beige, black and grey as accents. The establishment pops out on the street frontage with a playful wink.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The interior design of Dreams. The Bread takes the idea of a bakery to a new, stylish level.
Using geometric patterns as the main element, the designers have created an eye-catching image for the bakery, with the back wall consisting of the store’s signature product–cubed bread.
Color originates from the product, the green tea pumpkin bread, to agree with the organic value of the bakery. The whole design is highlighted with a window display of lanterns that perfectly showcase the products.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Food dummy isn't food, so we would like to have more realistic so we discuss with client we need a real bread for the design. It make the brand more natural.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Besides the product-inspired wall, other artistic geometric patterns can be found on flooring, walls and the ceiling. A mixture of black and white tiles are set off by colourful splashes throughout the bakery, predominantly in red, blue, green and yellow.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design of cube-bread wall we researched and try to install by food dummy for the design. But the outcome not good. Finally our design team brain-storm and make over 2000 real cube-bread with client for short time. Using old method-dried food to make sure the bread were dry. Fixing it and spray coating on the bread.
CHALLENGE: The Hardest part should be over 2000 cube bread produce in 2 days. Also our designers haven't experience for the bread making.
