| DESIGN NAME: The Dual Space PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: The rectangular public area has been separated as four spaces: the gym room, the living room, the restaurant and the reading room. The private area is then arranged by two sets of master bedroom dedicated for the host and hostess respectively. The living room and the restaurant are the interactive spaces for the owners to enjoy delightful time with family members and their friends. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is a residential interior design, which the site of this project is featured by large area and long shape. The owners are a couple who have different living patterns due to their different jobs. Therefore the owners have distinctive requirements in this project respectively. The designer's main challenge is how to fulfill the needs for the owners respectively, and tries to establish a space with separate and interactive living patterns. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Based on the owners' different personalities, the designer can demonstrate the space with the feelings of dual ballet. The couple can enjoy their lives in this dual space and still keep their own life tempo freely. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in 2016 in Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main wall of the living room is decorated by the materials of light stone and black and white wool cloth, which can express a kind of minimalist style with warm feelings. In the living room, the three types of chairs want to intentionally express this space is a kind of public space but having different personalities. In the restaurant, the setting of dual items can enhance the flexibility. There are several light-yellow lights hung up the top of the kitchen island, which can warm up the couple's relationship. The gorgeous dining table can fulfill the needs of holding joyful parties with family members and friends. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is 560 square meters. TAGS: Interior Design, Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The gym and the reading room are kind of semi-public space with the characteristics of the owners' different jobs. The reading room with tranquil atmosphere is for the hostess whose job is related to academic. The gym with active atmosphere is for the host whose job is related to commercial business. CHALLENGE: In the host's bedroom, the bathroom and the dressing room are connected directly, which can shorten the time the host dressing up himself efficiently. In the hostess's bedroom, the walls are decorated by the cloth with floral patterns, which can reflect the hostess's graceful personality.
