DESIGN NAME: Wanderlust In Wilderness
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Menswear Collection
INSPIRATION: This collection takes inspiration from reincarnation, which refers to the belief that the soul continues to exist after death and would be reborn in an interconnected cycle of existence. It tells what the designer thinks she was in the past life. She thinks she was a bird without legs that can only fly and fly, travelled from one dimension to here and landed in the wilderness where she died. Then she became a human in this life as a wanderlust searching for her soul in the wilderness.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The designer had done researches and an essay discussing the relationship between things in and out of this world in both physical and spiritual aspects. It took an in-depth look at the concept of soul, energy, multiverses, time, and related themes.
The concept of soul appeared in both western and eastern histories. Many philosophers and religions like Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism believe in reincarnation. Soul has long been discussed and criticized, but the idea of it can be traced back to the ancient period. Many philosophers such as Aristotle and Plato had mentioned about souls in their works.
"Birth is not a beginning; death is not an end. There is existence without limitation. There is continuity without a starting-point. Existence without limitation is Space. Continuity without a starting point is Time. There is birth, there is death, there is issuing forth, there is entering in."
- Chuang-tzu, the founder of Daoism
CHALLENGE: The hardest part throughout the design process is hand-painting since the outcome was hard to control. It would change regarding the outer factors like the amount of water and paint, drying condition, choice of fabrics and so on.
