| DESIGN NAME: Blue PRIMARY FUNCTION: Washbasin INSPIRATION: Washbasin’s design is inspired by the color blue. Overcounter washbasin with thin edges is designed with a new perspective. 8mm thickness on sides and on the top profile is extraordinary for overcounter washbasins. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Design is inspired by the color blue. Calm, clear and elegant like water. Blue washbasin reflects the elegancy of this unique color to the bathrooms with the slimmest edges. Sophisticated slim design creates a luxurious and calm atmosphere. Thanks to carefully thought out details, the washbasin combines aesthetic with function. Thin profile on the top prevents water to go out and protects cabinet. Soft bowl design emphasizes the calming effect of the water on Blue washbasins. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Washbasin is compatible with a cabinet. Since the washbasin is bigger than the cabinet; thin edges are emphasized on the sides and front. Sophisticated slim design creates a calm and peaceful atmosphere. Thin profile on the top of the washbasin keeps the cabinet clean, provides the user spend less time for cleaning. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2016, finished in July 2017 in Turkey. It was exhibited in ISH Fair in Frankfurt March 2017. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Washbasin is produced with Fine Fire Clay (FFC) ceramic. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 100 x 470 x 165mm TAGS: Washbasin, Slim, Thin, Blue, Aesthetic, Function, Turkuaz, Seramik, Elegant, Luxury, Sophisticated RESEARCH ABSTRACT: User behaviours, expectations and the products on the market are the first step of the research. User expectations are becoming more and more everyday. Trendy, stylish and functional products should be designed to communicate with the user and make the user delighted. Slim shaped designs with thin edges are trendy in sanitaryware market. To achieve this target, prototypes are made 3 times with new revisions. Tests are made by the design team on the prototypes to check the functionality, aesthetics and ergonomics to decide the revisions. Washbasin design does not let the water go out of the top of the basin. Furniture have the minimum contact with water; it provides easy cleaning, minimum water and detergent consumption. CHALLENGE: The idea is to produce overcounter washbasin with the slimmest edges. It is really difficult to produce thin edge washbasins with a 100cm width.
