DESIGN NAME: Hope Ring
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring
INSPIRATION: The concept of this artwork is based on a fable from Attar of Nishapour, who was persian poet, Sufi, theoretician of mysticism, and hagiographer, born ca. 540/1145-46 .In one of hemistich of his poetry said: “… this, too shall pass”. In this poetry, a powerful king asked his contemporary wise men make a ring to make him hopeful when he is sad and make him aware wherever all the things go on well because those conditions are impermanent. “This too shall pass” was inscribed on the king’s ring referring all material conditions, whether good or bad, are ephemeral.
The design of this ring is derived from the nature fact which revealing that the leafless branches in winter would be converted to the live seedling in spring. This nature-originated belief reflects the temporality of human conditions in life. changes are continual in the universe but what will pass is the bad & good situations and happenings.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In this project, We made a free research in the field of "Persian Poems" to prepare design specifications. we tried to reach the poem or story about Hope & Life & happiness.
In this poetry “This too shall pass” This nature-originated belief reflects the temporality of human conditions in life. changes are continual in the universe but what will pass is the bad & good situations and happenings.
CHALLENGE: This design is historically refers the concept of natural rebirth regularly appears in seasonal changes. According to a historical Persian tradition, Spring is a season representing the concept of "rebirth" and the winter is conceptually referring to the concept of "death" and "mortality". All these concepts are represented in traditional symbols of Young Branch(Spring Hope) and Dry Branches (Winter).
