DESIGN NAME: Highpoint 66 Fashion Mall
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Shopping mall
INSPIRATION: Nowadays people increasingly prefer to stay at home, which is a huge challenge for offline business. In order to attract more young people to offline consumption, we must to create a highly entertaining, experiential, interactive commercial space. This inspiration of decoration design for this space comes from the hot topic and focus of all young people. We extract elements from the popular anime, art, music, movies and other topics, and carefully combined to create this interesting space.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is an underground mall with experience as the focus, which combines shopping, leisure, art, food, fun, social integration.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is a ring-shaped flow mall, from anyone of the four main entrances to walk into the mall, you can play along the main channel freely.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2015 and finished in April 2016 in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We did not use too much gorgeous or expensive materials on the decoration, on the contrary, we used a minimalist retro way. Most of the space, we use the most basic cement, paint and plain ceramic tiles. However, beyond the hard decoration, we added a very rich installation of art and soft display products. For example, a large number of plants, retro modeling lamp pipes, all kinds of glass and the like wooden sculptures.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The total area of the mall is 11028 square meters, the public space (our decoration design area) is 2783 square meters, and it's 6.5 meters height.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main research contents include: Today's young people’s fashion topic hot spots, young people's social way, business layout and consumer guidance model, commercial indoor light environment and psychology and so on. The research methods include: Similar commercial project sites visits (We vicited more than 40 domestic commercial projects, including the different positioning, volume, opening time, or format environment); project surrounding environment research; a large number of target population interviews and observation; target business research; foreign similar projects materials research and so on.
CHALLENGE: The main difficulty lies in the richness and variability of the preferences of young people on the tide of things. We want to implant elements rich enough in a limited space, in order to stimulate enough interest in people. These elements need to be very clever fusion, and has a main line through, so that it will not be abrupt unexpected. Meanwhile,we should try to reserve flexible and variable space, making the shopping environment with vitality, rather than out of date in a few months. Therefore, we have adopted a minimalist retro hard-mounted as a basis, he can be used as any decade, any element vector artwork, and easy to replace, saving the cost and date of construction. And the entire mall public space as an art gallery, during which any device is easy to replace, but also can be created by the user, such as graffiti art wall, notes wall, painting gallery.
