DESIGN NAME: Splice
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Floor Lamp
INSPIRATION: My design inspiration derives from a splice toy that I used to play in childhood. I have chosen a color similar to a lampshade, which is made from linens. Using the light and environmentally friendly MDF boards with the water-washing effect as support structure. I hope that it will be able to construct a natural and comfortable family environment together with other family products. The highlight of this design is the innovation of the structure of tenon. In the process of design, I have got effective advices from my Italian friend, besides, I have done a lot of tests to solve the problem of stability.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A lighter and environmentally friendly 6mm MDF board was selected as the overall support for the lamp. This design uses a total of 6 kinds of boards, a total of 22, both splicing. With a combination of the triangular and tenon structure, the overall stability of the large floor lamp is increased. The highlights of this innovative floor lamp are, easy to assemble, disassemble and package, transport, innovative tenon shape structure.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Using Six kinds of 6 mm MDF boards of different shapes, a total of 22, and the two are combined together so that the users can easily install and disassemble the MDF board.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was completed in Huizhou, Guangdong Province in February 2017.
