| DESIGN NAME: The Pavilia Hill PRIMARY FUNCTION: Club House for residential INSPIRATION: Inspiration comes from the geographical location of the development at the heart of the bustling city but strategically with a green hill at the background. The poise ambiance of the overall Club House interior is to provide serenity to the residents amidst the busy everyday city life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is an intimate interior with luxurious materials and elements to create a relaxed and homely atmosphere whilst the spiritually fulfilling experience of visiting the onsen is retained in the interplay of light and shadow in the spaces that brings a sense of peacefulness and calm. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: One can enjoy tea surrounded by Zen garden at Tea Pavilion. The main Lobby has a large Library with bar counter facility, the 2 Private Dining rooms come with walk-in cellar and fully-equipped kitchen for professional-chef use. On the upper floor, the gold leaf ceiling indoor pool has openable windows to the view of the mountain. There is a water cascade jacuzzi, and the private onsen with waterfall shower comes with it's own open deck to the mountain view. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Throughout, we use natural materials that will age in their own original and beautiful ways. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 1650sqm. TAGS: the pavilion hill, wabi-sabi design, new world development, the artisanal movement, luxury club house RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Japan is one of the country known for its deep culture. To proper develop the Tea Pavilion and the onsen, study of tea ceremony and various types of onsen has been done. The motivation is also to preserve the authenticity while adapting to modern way of living. For example, the way of preparing the tea done at the Tea Pavilion is a mixed of Japanese and Chinese style. To take that into consideration for the space planning and material selection for the Tea Pavilion. CHALLENGE: One of the exciting part of Pavilia Hill is the black indoor pool with it's gold leaf ceiling. As this pool has openable windows to the view of the green hill behind, it can be either indoor or half outdoor depending of the season. The gold leaf ceiling is to reflect the beauty of the different looks of the outside season. It is nicer to capture all these with dark space, thus the black pool.
