| DESIGN NAME: Black Eyes PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting INSPIRATION: We open our eyes to see objects more accurately. Actually we control the light entering the eyes with the opening and closing of the eyes. This description led us to this concept. An abstract impression of the eyes and using it in the form of a Lighting. Spherical form with two shells. Fixed outer shell and the inner shell that can rotates around the vertical axis. By rotating the inner shell, the direction and focusing of the light can be adjusted. With this capability, we will have several modes that be shown in the optional images. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This concept has a special metaphoric approach to the form of lighting. Poetic look with efficient function, that rotating inner shell allows the user to describe the space with light. What is happening due to the location of two symmetrical holes but not in front of each other. Simple and clever idea that make it very interesting. The concept with simple form and function. Meaningful form in direct contact with function. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 'Spherical form with two shells. Fixed outer shell and the inner shell that can rotates around the vertical axis. By rotating the inner shell, the direction and focusing of the light can be adjusted. With this capability, we will have several modes that be shown in the optional images.' this is enjoyable physical interaction that occurs for the user. The users can choose the suit position according to their needs. Users can also use holes on the shells to replace bulbs. It is preferable that the lamps are installed in available elevation. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2016 in Isfahan by Aran team (Iran) and finished in December 2016, and is scheduled to shown in exhibition in Art University of Isfahan in july 2009. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For the production of this product two different ways offered. Spinning is the first method that is suitable for limited production and second method is molding and pressing technology that is suitable for high volume production. In both of them, production process will be in two stages. In fact, two sphere can not be made synchronic. In the first stage, smaller one have made and in the second stage, larger sphere is made on smaller one. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: We have just two spherical part. The radius of inner part is 170 mm and the outer one is 175mm. The radius of holes on both parts is 85 mm and finally the angle between two holes is about 90 degree. TAGS: lighting, aesthetics, simplicity, lifestyle, eyes RESEARCH ABSTRACT: It is very simple. we were looking for finding new experience, in using of daily functional products like lighting. So we tried to do various research Based on lifestyle. we finally select the simplicity. CHALLENGE: Relation between form and function was one of the main challenges in designing this concept.
