"Armour" rings series
Medieval breastplates, helmets as well as oriental armour pieces, their laced bindings. I especially focused on transferring functional joints to this rings set.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The "Armour" jewellery ring series are based on investigation of aesthetic features of various shield suits existed in the past and their modern perusal.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The rings have 2 special interaction features:
- Some of them should be tightened with leather laces;
- Long rings intentionally fix the phalanx of the finger when being worn.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in October 2016 in Moscow and finished in March 2017, and was exhibited in State Historical Museum in Moscow in March 2017.
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Brass, gold, silver, leather laces, blackening, texturing, sewing.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Each ring 45x25x24mm (long) or 26x25x24mm (short).

The research included mostly the technical analysis of the joints of medieval armour as well as its aesthetics.
More than 30 versions of metal textures were created before the final variants were chosen.
