DESIGN NAME: Armour
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Rings
INSPIRATION: Medieval breastplates, helmets as well as oriental armour pieces, their laced bindings. I especially focused on transferring functional joints to this rings set.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The "Armour" jewellery ring series are based on investigation of aesthetic features of various shield suits existed in the past and their modern perusal.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The rings have 2 special interaction features:
- Some of them should be tightened with leather laces;
- Long rings intentionally fix the phalanx of the finger when being worn.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2016 in Moscow and finished in March 2017, and was exhibited in State Historical Museum in Moscow in March 2017.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Brass, gold, silver, leather laces, blackening, texturing, sewing.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Each ring 45x25x24mm (long) or 26x25x24mm (short).

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research included mostly the technical analysis of the joints of medieval armour as well as its aesthetics.
CHALLENGE: More than 30 versions of metal textures were created before the final variants were chosen.
