PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Hair Salon

INSPIRATION:
Haircut often leaves on our head different blank spots that turn out to be a new hairstyle but an old hairstyle later. The shifts between new and old hairstyles record the life unique to each person. Intercepting and condensing this empty space concept, we design our hair salon with an intention to create an atmosphere in which our customers are offered with various possibilities to archive and wake up their memories.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
We use geometric blocks independent to each other to shoulder the weight of equipment and provide storage functions. The blocks are meticulously shaped and wrapped and placed for various service activities. We have also hollowed out some parts of the blocks according to the needs of different service activities. The hollowed edges are wrapped by wood materials to highlight the empty parts. It’s creating a moderate atmosphere for our customers when they are around the service blocks.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
In order to allow customers to relax and deeply feel the changes they have come here every time, so let the space presents a slow and even static atmosphere, and therefore, in the first floor, there is no busy hairdressing service, in addition to the necessary Counter and coffee bar outside, only a large wooden table, a group of towering lampposts as if to stop in the fall, give customers a tension but soothing waiting space, on the second floor, all make customers need sedentary service , Are placed in a natural lighting and scenery of the location, especially in the dye, perm service area, the customer seat directly face the big window, which can make the distant park landscape to ease their fatigue.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
No.97,Nan-Kai-Er-Wei Road,Nan-Kai District,Tianjin City,China R.P. The project started in July 2016 in Tianjin and finished in October 2016

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Understand the action, the way, the time, the procedure, and the procedure that every step of the hairdressing service needs, and rethink which service processes can meet each other in a different service scene in response to existing spatial conditions, Conditions and sacrifice of the use value must also be considered with other added value to fill back, for example, because a layer of area is limited, the customer must go to the second floor to accept the hairdressing services, but the second floor of the main service area configuration in the window Location, abundant light and overlooking the park scenery, from the psychological to give users a more comfortable feedback.

CHALLENGE:
The original building because of the load-bearing structure caused by the spatial plane shape trivial, space split into small blocks, the need to use the design strategy to collapse such a sense of space, while the integration of space into a large block to meet the convenience of service activities and psychological space comfortability.
