| DESIGN NAME: lotus bag PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fashion INSPIRATION: Lotus flower,which is the most used symbol in Perspolis, is associated with purity and beauty. Emerging of Lotus leaves every morning from the water is seen as a sign of rebirth and this leads to it being associated with spiritual enlightenment. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Emerging of Lotus leaves every morning from the water is seen as a sign of rebirth and this leads to it being associated with spiritual enlightenment. Therefore, the cover of the design is made of clear Polyurethane.Lotus also symbolises the sun and the creation, thus the yellow colour of the bag is to represent this and the use of silicon materials to show it's elegance. Lotus stem has resemblance to human umbilical cord that connects it to its origin. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Induction the sense of purity, light and life PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This bag was designed in January 2017 in Tehran/Iran. TAGS: lotus bag,flower,yellow ,Perspolis, silicone,Polyurethan RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Lotus retracts into the water at nights and emerges with the sunlight. In ancient civilisations such as Persia and Egypt this flower was always associated with the sun. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to create a bag that represents Lotus and its meaningful characteristics.
