| DESIGN NAME: Secret & Healing Water Table PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: Although the manner of business and working style change, the conditions of environment where people can live and work comfortably will not probably change. As human beings have originally lived in the natural environment, comfortableness felt from it should be more permanent than working style. As a result of thinking so, by necessity we got out from the fixed concept of the traditional office space, and workspace with comfortableness like outdoor has been created. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Design of this office gives feeling of outdoor space as if it drew the natural environment in front of eyes into indoor space. By using the materials of exterior walls of a building for the walls and planting on them, the indoor space is created like outdoor space. On the ceiling, piping and lighting rails are shown, giving the image of vines. Floor is finished like a deck. Pendant lightings evoke the image of nuts. Big irregularly shaped painted table is like a thin basin. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2016 in Japan and finished in September 2016 in Japan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The table like water panel is made of three layered wood panels cut by laser in houndstooth check, by targeting the joint parts of the lowest layer, positioning the steel legs in a good balance, assembling on the site and painting with special paint. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 196 square meters TAGS: Office, Table, Water, Nature scene, Green, Earth RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With this design, the employees will raise their motivation as well as performance, creating competition, which will lead to acquirement of competent human resources. This design was achieved while we had the client understand that design power greatly contributes to work environment where high level performance can be continued at all times. CHALLENGE: Since the table paint must be finished in one and cannot be redone, many samples were made in advance to fix the color and image. Paint was casted onto the pretreated wooden table by using the brush and spatula before it hardens, using contrast of air strength of the compressor and blowing down another color to control the pattern. After the above process, the world’s only one table like water surface was completed.
