DESIGN NAME: Tulpi-InMotion
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bench
INSPIRATION: Tulpi-InMotion is designer Marco Manders Sidekick design, a new addition to the Tulpi product line inspired by the Tulip. Marco Manders visionary designs are genuinely eye-catching not just for their organic shapes, which are constant reminders of the beauty of nature, but primarily because they epitomise the importance of social design. This designer embraces the cohesion of environment and people, playfully contributing to, and thus enhancing, the value, appearance and importance of our surroundings.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: I wanted to create an experience to remember my childhood; rockin on a chair, swinging on a swing and floating on an air mattress. The user should imagine themselves in a peaceful atmosphere by a slight fluctuation. No theme park attraction to be sick, but just enough to satisfy the mind and body.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The corporate identity of Tulpi is integrated in the arm of the Tulpi-InMotion. The arm of the Bench is constructed so you experience a smooth rocking.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Tulpi-InMotion has gone through a one year development, concentrating on its design, ergonomic features and engineering process. It started in January 2016 and was produced in January 2017.
