| DESIGN NAME: Kr-Sc-00001 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Avantgarde Summer Coat INSPIRATION: Kronos ( KR-SC-00001) was inspired by the virtual reality and its journey from the real existence to the non-existence.It is the continuation of Exitus…what was inspired by the utopia of the self-destructive future society. The eye of the gas mask is the symbol for the mechanization of the system and the anonymity of the world. I got the inspiration from books like 1984 and Brave New World, as well as the films, for example Equilibrium, which are characterized by dystopian cities. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: KR-SC-00001 visualizes the individual’s dismissal from reality and its transformation in a new world.The Coat distinguishes itself through its unique contrasting material character. Hard, demolished rigid fabric, as well rough metal buckles and a gas mask lense, symbolise the individual’s liberation from human reality and lend it a mechanical character.Layers and elongated lapels encase the body and function as protection against upcoming and uncertain dimensions.The transformation is complete OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: -transformation into a strong character -transformation from the real-existence to the non-existence PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: DURATION: Februar 2016 - Juni 2016 WORKING LOCATION: Berlin, Germany EXHIBITION LOCATION: Paris Fashion Week, Berlin Fashion Week FASHION FILM FESTIVAL: Capetown Fashion Film Festival FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: -own unique draping method/technique -organic seeming -hard, demolished, rigid cotton fabric -dried folding technique -hand-stitched symbolic gas mask lense -pockets in side seems SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: -Size: menswear 48 (S) -normal weight TAGS: Avantgarde, darkfashion, dystopia, menswear, kaidunkel, kronos, summercoat, brutalism RESEARCH ABSTRACT: TYPE OF RESEARCH: books, blogs, internet, exhibitions, films, music RESEARCH OBJECTIVES: finding my cosmos METHODOLOGY: starting to create music lists for the project / continue the research with the sounds on the other techniques / going through the books, tumblr, exhibitions etc. / making notes all the time / planing DATA COLLECTIONS: saving images (from the internet) into all the differnet folders for the project, notice books, sketch books Research Tools Used: computer (soundcloud, vime, tumblr, google) books, films (science fiction) EXPERIMENTS: Folding techniques, Draping techniques EFFECT OF THE RESEARCH: Dominated the design CHALLENGE: To create and form the character was the most challenging part.
