| DESIGN NAME: Pnote PRIMARY FUNCTION: Application INSPIRATION: Sticker notes are commonly used to remind daily routines or ideas, but since anybody can see them where you leave them they lack privacy. Pnote is triggered from the desire to write personal notes or private reminders without worrying about wrong people reading them. Moreover, Pnote tries to bring augmented reality experience to our pockets and help us create more privacy in real world via smartphones. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Pnote is an application based on augmented reality technology to allow people to virtually stick private notes and reminders anywhere using their smartphones and share them with others if they want to. You can simply leave notes at a certain location that can only be seen by you through your smartphone's camera or specific others whom you add to your viewer's list. Not only it drastically increases privacy, it's an exciting way to write notes and hide them. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: If you miss the traditional way to communicate, Pnote is here for you. Pnote is a time travel to the delight of writing diaries and leaving notes.This application lets you use your smartphone as a means to a joyful diary writing and highly protected messaging process. It is a throwback to the time when there were no smartphones around, with excessive privacy and user-experience raise based on new technologies e.g. augmented reality and smartphones' camera. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2016 in Tehran and finished in February 2017 in Tehran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Pnote is an application where augmented reality meets smartphones.It binds augmented reality technology to your smartphone’s cameras and let you leave personal notes anywhere and define who can see them via custom viewer setting.Once you enter a place where you have left a private note or there is a private one sent to you by a friend,you receive a notification on your smart phone and start scanning the place using your camera to find it. Pnote provides you with a fun way to share secret messages. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: Reminder, Application, Sticky note, Privacy, Personal RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: The main challenge was bringing back the joy of traditional way of writing notes using the new technologies alongside solving its lack of privacy problem.
