| DESIGN NAME: Shenyang Vanke Sales Office PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Sales Offices INSPIRATION: To create timeless space, "Space,Light & Time" are the base elements in the sales office. The entrance is a light tower, where light is gently bestowed upon visitors once entered,freeing their spirits and minds. A line of light subtly guides them through the space and into a time passage,where artworks are displayed,and visitors follows their lead into the grand hall. Finally,arrive at the final place, its lightness and spaciousness contrasts previous journey, creating a pleasant surprise for the visitors. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is the first high-end development in Shenyang Old City Area, it is set to introduce a brand new artistic sense in the traditional neighborhood, as well as forging a new sense of contemporary spatial architecture. Project vision is to create a timeless space, with space, light and time as the basic elements. Through thoughtful articulation of space and form, light and rhythm; Shenyang Vanke Sale Office is a unique development, in hope of bring new light to an old neighborhood. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: One can describe the entry space as starry night, a gentle drizzle, or a lightning flashes by, the natural light affects how the space is perceived in different days. Together with the sound effects at the tower entry, the atmosphere here is highly infectious. At the time passage, the sparkly materials enhanced by the programmed lighting effects, brings to life a sense of luxury. And at the grand hall, first thing visitors see are two giant art piece made with thousands of crystal beads, the effect is grandiose while poetic. Feature wall behind service bar is back lit stone, and to add on to this, the crystalized lighted column enforces a unique lighting effect in the whole space, actualizing the concept ‘Light of Jade’. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: (to be added) SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: (to be added) TAGS: space, light, time, rhythe, sales office, starry night RESEARCH ABSTRACT: N/A CHALLENGE: The most challenging of the Project is to manage the delicate time frame, only 2 months was allowed for a 1400sqm construction area, therefore, the design and choice of materials is intentionally kept minimal. The coordination between architecture and interior design is also critical in such timeframe, as any architectural/ structural elements at any unwanted location has tremendous effect on the visual outcome, especially at the 18m tower entrance. And the crystal curtain at grand hall is definitely a delicate piece of art, all handled on site by technicians, to ensure the quality of the outcome. Early on during the beginning of the design phase, we had carried out several coordination with architects and engineers to make sure the tower volume has no exposed structure, and through back and forth structural calculations, the final space has a stunning visual effect. In most area, our choice of material is proprietary products, and all these products are made ready in factories, and only installation is carried out on site, which saves a lot of construction time. And to install the 6m high crystal curtain, we had to modulate the work into manageable pieces, so that it can be delivered and installed on site correctly as designed.
