PRIMARY FUNCTION: Medical fraud detector
INSPIRATION: The product intends to battle the increasing problem with counterfeit pharmaceutical products. In some countries, there are indications that more than 20 % of medicines offered to the public is in one way or another a counterfeit.
The product has been developed and designed as a result of field studies in pharmacies internationally, user studies and interviews, with the purpose and aim to give the consumer a tool to assure the authenticity of the medicine intended for purchase.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The PaperDNA is an authentication solution to prevent fraud in medicals, based on the inherent micro topography of paper fiber pulp. The authentication label is the codified micro topography of the surface on which is printed and will not work if duplicated or copied into any other surface.
When the M2 Reader is placed in a pharmacy environment, the customer can verify products by reading the label with M2 Reader. The display stand has a touch screen to get the opportunity for more information.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The product offers modularity and can be be mounted on a table stand, a floor stand, or on the wall. Given this, the product has been developed to withstand usage in a pharmacy environment or similar.
Materials used are aluminium for stand details, reinforced plastic for the main unit and the corded hand unit. The hand unit is secured on the main unit through strong neodyne magnets, clicking into position when not in use.
