| DESIGN NAME: Magnets PRIMARY FUNCTION: Earbuds INSPIRATION: Just got the inspiration from yo-yo, players can easily pack up a yo-yo by revolving around the central. Tidy up the earbuds lines in the same way. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This earbuds have a kind of special magnet parts. With these special parts, users can pack it up by revolving around the earbuds lines. With this function, the messy earbuds lines will trouble them no more. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Users can join the two earbuds together with the special magnet inside. Then, revolve the lines around the joined-earbuds. In this condition, the whole unit will be easier to carry and won't trouble people anymore PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2016 and finished in February 2017 in Zhengzhou, China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Proof of principle rigs were developed to establish the correct geometry and material combinations. Magnets are proofed that it wouldn't do any negative effects to the inside speakers of the earbuds. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 8 mm x Depth 4 mm x Height 32 mm. TAGS: Earbuds, Magnets, Merged RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Many people get troubles with earbuds lines and headsets lines because they are very easily get messy. It also usually takes people a long time to untie those lines. We find it very important to have a design that will not get people into those troubles anymore. CHALLENGE: It took a long time to figure out how the final actual form of the earbuds should be. After many times of prototype making, we finally discovered that it would be the best, just as the pictures shown.
