INSPIRATION:
The design of this leisure armchair is inspired by the simple form of the skate, while capturing the beauty of nature and vigorous vitality, we complete the design used biological external form and human aesthetic needs, in order to strengthen the smoothness of the seat, the lighter aluminum alloy frame and strip leather surface and backrest is chosen, reflecting the simple style of modern furniture.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
According to the bionic design principle, we put the skate shape into the leisure armchair design, make it novel and functional, based on the shape of the mouth, pectoral and caudal fins, the front legs, handrails and hind leg of the leisure armchair are designed so that the overall shape is concise and smooth, the frame of leisure chair use aluminum alloy material, which is produced by CNC milling or model poured, the surface and backrest use strip leather, which is made by cutter and knitter.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
When sitting on the leisure armchair, the reticular leather surface and backrest can provide elastic and moderate support, the hands will be on both top sides of the seat, the user can get relaxed and psychological feelings.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The design had started in January 2015 in Shenyang, completed in June 2015 in Shenyang, and displayed in July the same year in the museum of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The frame of leisure chair use aluminum alloy material, which is produced by CNC milling or model poured, the surface and backrest use strip leather, which is made by cutter and knitter, the belt passes through the aluminum alloy frame, forming the mesh structure by knitting to achieve the functionality of the connection and the chair.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
800mmx700mmx850mm, with CNC milling or die casting technology processing aluminum alloy frame, the use of cutting technology processing belt, the use of weaving technology will be made of striped mesh to complete the overall production of the chair.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The appearance of the skate applied to the design of leisure chair, you can make it has smooth lines and strong resistance to pressure, the chair armrest design like the skate pectoral fins, comfortable and natural, the front legs of the chair are designed to be like a beacon-shaped, thick and smooth, the hind leg of the chair is like caudal fins of a skate, firm and firm, the leisure chair has the vibrant shape, the simple material, the concise structure, and the operational production process.

CHALLENGE:
How to combine the simple and smooth form of the skate with the shape of the leisure chair, and to reflect the comfort of the functional and the rational use of materials is the design of the biggest challenges encountered, followed by the tensile strength of the belt braid surface and the backrest, as well as the connection to the aluminum alloy frame.

LuXun Academy of Fine Arts

PROFILE:
The predecessor of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts (LAFA) was the Yanan-based Luxun Arts College (LAC) founded, in 1938, by the pioneering generation of Chinese Revolutionaries including Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. Mao personally handwrote the Motto of LAC: “Strenuousness, Seriousness, Diligence and Modesty”. The college was removed to Northeast China in 1945 and evolved to Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 1958.
