PRIMARY FUNCTION: Measure
INSPIRATION: The measure that it is selling in the market currently is just providing at the lowest price which is the top priority with overwhelming percentage, it is the prejudice market exceedingly. Against this situation, we development team determined that according to the designer's knowledge collaboration with Takeda metal processing power, if we put the valuable item into the market, it would be recognized by the user as an attractive choice never before.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The casting of the MiLLiSECOND measure and fiber measure is manufactured by milling aluminum ingots with the utmost precision. The two-sided body boasts shell like indentations on both sides. This offers the user greater comfort as the fingers lie neatly in the indentations.
The frame of the body is provided 2 oblong holes and 1 round hole.
The user will be able to select these holes according to own preference, use & wearing method. The user can put your favorite keychain, strap & etc.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Retractable Tape Measure: When you pull out a length of tape, it stays in position; Then you hit the button to retract it.

For example, in case of a round hole, if the user can be put a neck strap into a round hole, it can be put on the neck or if the user put the O-ring into oblong hole, it will be a key chain.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The MiLLiSECOND brand was born in Tsubame, Japan, a center of metalworking, stated 2014. The first product metal tape measure won 5 design award in Japan and Germany. MiLLiSECOND fiber measure is the second released products from MiLLiSECOND brand. In 2015 MiLLiSECOND exhibited at Paris, Germany, Dubai, Japan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A body is being produced and milled an aluminum ingot with a high precision. The surface of the aluminum after milling is treating an anodizing on aluminum so that it will be improved the corrosion resistance or abrasion resistance and also at the same time. On both of the sides body are providing the bowl shape depression so that the user should have the comfortable feeling on the depression that it will be just fit in the fingers.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Material: Aluminum body.
Anodizing on aluminum body.
Metal tape measure: Size & thickness of body: 48.0mm diameter except hook & 13.0mm.
Steel tape measure: coiled stainless steel spring.
Fiber measure: Size & thickness of body: 52.0mm diameter except hook

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The MiLLiSECOND measure’s body is being produced and milled an aluminum ingot with a high precision. We did trial and error so many times to milled for 2 oblong holes and 1 round hole, and the bowl shape depression of body.

The designer's aim was simply not only to consider the form of measure as an object but also it was to be suggested to the style that the user wears a tape measure or how to use.
