Inspired by the unique super-circle shape, the design aims to achieve an heat efficient cooking pot in terms of a new cooking experience, size and volume. Designed for efficiency at cooking, Heat-X is intended to combine different cooking experiences and materials.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The structural ceramic design builds a helix type of smooth space curve and a hot air way through its surface, creating a new heating approach. Rotating handles make it easier to transport from the stove when the cover on and prevent any type of burn injuries, meanwhile serving an easy grip ergonomic solution. Double layered metal bottom provides a heat distribution which results better than classical pots and reflects an aesthetic, sturdy and tangible look in a superior way for a cooking pot.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
When on any kind of stove, rather than escaping, heated air goes through the bottom holes and starts going up in the air way in the space between ceramic and metal walls, which causes a new and efficient way of heating. The air in the air way space can evacuate itself by the upper holes.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project was completed in 2017, Ankara, Turkey.
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Metal parts are produced from stainless steel by using cold press and spinnig processes. Ceramic part is produced from slip casting ceramic manufacturing.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Heat-X is a 280 mm diameter cooking pot and provides 7 liters of cooking size. Product Dimensions : 370 mm x 320 mm x 200 mm.

The materials with different heat absorption properties were examined and ceramic was selected as it is inexpensive, abundant and locally available material to combine with stainless steel.
Challenge was to create a new approach and material combination within a way for heat efficiency to improve cooking experience.
