| DESIGN NAME: Delphi PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sea Taxi INSPIRATION: Delphi is inspired by the ferries used in the modern coastal cities. It's a combination of luxury, comfort, aesthetic and high performance. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Delphi is a contemporary transportation unit designed for sea-tours and short-middle distance sea-transportation. It can carry up to 32 passengers and lets them to have a visually delightful and comfortable experience of travel. Because of using high performance materials such as aluminum and composites, Delphi offers efficiency in travel with a touch of elegance. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With its windows that placed all around the cabinet, Delphi has a spacious interior and panoramic view. All seats are positioned in a combination that enables all passengers to have better view of the city and the sea. With an overall length of 16 meters, the catamaran is powered through double 500 hp engines. The interior area is 52 square meters with kitchenette, toilet and luggage shelves. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was completed in 2016, Ankara, Turkey. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Composite hull, fiberglass technologies SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: LoA: 16 m Beam: 5.2 m Depth: 2.1 m Draught: 1.3 m Engine: 2x500 hp TAGS: Sea Taxi, Ferry, Sea Transportation RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The conducted research includes the social aspects of sea travel within big cities in short and mid distances. Therefore, a midi size transportation vehicle was developed between a sea taxi and ferry. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to create an everyday use vehicle with a touch of luxury and comfort.
