| DESIGN NAME: Wareth Gardens PRIMARY FUNCTION: Natural Landscape INSPIRATION: There are about 650 different varieties of trees and various colors of glasses throughout the garden. This ecologically rich and unique stroll garden as an extraordinary place to view changes of the seasons has various beautiful faces and colors throughout the seasons and has enchanted us for years. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Wareth gardens are Japanese style gardens about 6.5 hectors, which was built on a wetland. The gardens are dramatically organized through combining the different types of garden designs such as 200 meters of natural stream garden, three different types of water fall, front glass garden, main Japanese garden, and dry landscape garden based on the idea that owner enjoy the garden through WAlk, REst, and THink. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design was well considered to propose new lifestyle for owner as a manner of living symbiotically with nature, enjoying the change of four seasons, and making them a part of daily life can be easily seen in the seasonal enjoyment of Japanese, such as momiji-gari (excursion for viewing autumn leaves), and mushi-kari (catching insect). Wareth garden is composition or creation of an idealized designed natural landscape, which is consistent with natural dispensation and rationality and, is beautiful and desirable for owner. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started from 2003 summer and completed on 2007 summer in Ukraine. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 1. By observing the nature, found the essence of the natural beauty and tried to understand the low of nature which created the natural beauty. 2. Then created the most desirable garden landscape by guessing the mystery of nature, 3. with using contemporary technology, materials and own experiences 4. in accordance with the tradition of the Japanese garden. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The total area of the garden is about 6.5 hectare (65000 square meters). The field research is very important for us for to find local features, design inspiration, and idea. CHALLENGE: How to realize the same quality of Japanese garden in the cold land. How to create the natural scenery and aspect to realize the request of client for WAlk, REst and THink, namely Wareth gardens. NAME: Nakane & Associates PROFILE: Nakane & Associates were founded in 1966. Kinsaku Nakane, former President and the founder of Nakane & Associate, supervised the restoring works and investigations almost all the important classic Japanese gardens in Kyoto. And Shiro Nakane, current President and the successor of his knowledge and experience, is still engaging in similar projects at famous classic gardens in Japan. That means we know the best about the traditional techniques of the Japanese garden. Our project scale covers from very small Tsuboniwa(courtyard garden) to large scale garden like a public park. In addition our design variety covers from traditional Japanese garden such as Karesansui garden (dry landscape garden) and tea garden to contemporary landscape design such as atrium garden and restoration of natural landscape in and outside of Japan. |
