DESIGN NAME: Water World
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry
INSPIRATION: The bottom of the sea contains the most complex and meticulous structures in nature, and the shapes of sea life is a perfect unity of art and nature. We are going to express such marine creatures' unique aesthetic structures and beauty through our designs.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Water World, is a jewelry collection with about 30 pieces of design works, including necklace, ring, glasses, brooch and earring. These designs are originated from different marine organisms, and used 3D printing skill to carve their most complex details in order to express a most elegant side under the sea.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Water World looks much elegent with its organic lines and dynamic surfaces, and a small nature pearl hides in its openable cover will give the wearer a pleasant surpirse.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2016 and finished in December 2016 in Dongguan, China, and was exhibited in Lingnan Museum of Fine Art in December 2016.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Designers collect informations via reading books, documentary films and visiting the marine museum to capture the most vivid status of these mysterious creatures.
CHALLENGE: The structures of the marine creatures are complex and mysterious, it's difficult to observe their real living status, and the traditional molding tech is also hard to realize such ruleless and complicated design, so we referred to many kinds of research findings and try to use the 3D printing tech in this project.
