In all kinds of urban today, because of the downtown space limited and high cost of those downtown land, parking space seems to be lacking in. Projection parking space is a solution of these problems. It just like the sunrise, the only different between sunrise is that when darkness fall the projection parking space is appeared.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Projection parking space is suited for roads, streets, squares, spaces before buildings and other special surroundings which are busy at daytime but are relatively deserted at nighttime. Municipal administration controlling the projection by considering reality traffic flow. And the projection line can be recognized in all kinds of road condition, even the snow cover the surface.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Projection parking space is a kind of time-limited parking space, which achieves intelligent control and autonomic electric timing. When the night fall, it can project the LED shapes of parking space on the ground and the time of the parking limited can be selected by municipal administration. Users can park the car as if the projection images of the time is there.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in April 2016 in LAFA Communal Facility Design Studio and finished in February 2017 in National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA.

Projection parking space is designed by combining the LED projection and solar energy, which achieves the self-supply energy, intelligent control and autonomic electric timing.

Time-limited, Projection, Parking Space
Currently, difficulties in parking have been an international issue troubling the urban traffic. Time-limited parking space, as a powerful supplement to the regular parking space, plays the irreplaceable roles in regulating the vehicles and relieving the traffic jam, thus it improves the efficiency of parking. Because projection parking line can disappear, when it is not the correct time for parking, projection one could avoid wrongly recognizing of the time-limited real-line parking space.
The challenge of our design is that we cannot formulate a suitable shape for the projector. After a number of sketching in the selection of exterior, we finally find the proper way for the projector which achieves the desired effect.
