DESIGN NAME: Hiding Our Time
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House
INSPIRATION: Everyone has a dream of travelling around the world. Perhaps work is busy, but nothing stops you from wanting to step ahead and fly away, and the size of the world is determined by you. The true meaning of travel is not where to go or what to see, but to watch the world with your own eyes, and live a unique life. However, all travel is finding your way home. When you find something new in the distance, you understand the meaning of home more.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We have applied slim and natural stones to match with TV wall surface in living room and extended this into walkway’s wall surface. Entrance-side view’s book wall is designed to combine with horizontal linear light and correspond directly with metal framework lighting under TV cabinet.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Being a long-narrow plane space, this Residence only has daylight on one side, and for this reason, we have not only arranged its living room and bedrooms to window side with respect to layout planning, but configured the guest room and kitchen with transparent and mobile compartments to bring daylight into dining space.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2015 and completed in April 2016, and place in Taipei, Taiwan.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The owner loves to travel, and we have then pieced a world map graph by abstractly adopting geometrical line structure metals to hang on the bedroom for owner’s free combination according to his own travel records and living space.
CHALLENGE: Due to user’s age of such plan varies significantly, our main design spirit is to unite owners’ separate favors, and for this reason, we have adopted the neutral light grey to cohere the public space with host and hostess’s bedroom, while the elder’s bedroom is decorated with splash-ink pattern wall cloth as spatial vision focus, to create simple and calm space atmosphere.
