| DESIGN NAME: kinema active chair PRIMARY FUNCTION: Swivel Chair INSPIRATION: Long periods of sitting are “the new smoking“ as studies show - it may cause chronic back pain or musculoskeletal disorders. So, there is no ONE ideal posture for desk jockeys. But there is a healthy solution – a well-balanced combination of standing and sitting, a so called „Stand-Sit-Support UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: kinema active chair is a customization sit-stand sit product that can be smoothly and flexibly adjusted to its user´s body and requirements so that it combines various stand sit and sit postures in one piece of furniture. So, the innovative, straight design and ergonomics concept serves the usability in height adjustable desks, as well as at height adjustable conference tables. The high shifting area and area of use 25.59 Inches up to 51.18 Inches can offer by the kinema active chair and his new developed mechanics a dynamically conformist change of the body posture to the respective table height, and allows therefore more than only sitting and standing. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Product enables – unlike the simple rotational feature of a normal swivel chair – active sitting in vertical movement. Working from the kinema active chair, office dwellers will experience a new and healthier work space environment, nurturing body and soul all at the same time while raising productivity. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Design of a new and internationally patent-protected mechanics. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The newly developed mechanics make a recommended, dynamically adjusted alternation of seat inclination and pelvis position from -10 to +4° possible. This open sitting posture promoting pelvis tilting is supported by the straightforward design – and therefore keeps the spine, always in accordance to seat inclination in a healthy physiological posture. While in the elevated or stand-up sitting position ones limbs automatically take on an open angular position, joints will be relieved, pressure on lumbar vertebrae reduced and blood flow stimulated. Starting at a height of 680 mm the users own weight weighs down vertically on the system and a stop mechanism will be released to brake the swivel chairs castors. Active, elevated sitting with an integrated function for pelvis rotation promotes and demands body movement. The kinema active chair liberates its user from the monotony of inflexible body posture one is usually confronted with at a desk work station. With only two adjustable parts it is easy to set up, simple to use and combinable with height-adjustable desks and tables.
