DESIGN NAME: Gira 2008
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Booth
INSPIRATION: Further Development of the concept of the Fairstand from 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006. Use of the glass girder construction with a new surface.A complete new way to show the product presentation for a manufacturer for modern building technology. The area of the stand shall seem larger. A new kind of product presentation is in demand.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The basic architecture of 2004 will be adopted. The glass girder construction gets new glass slabs in a raster of 50 cm instead of 100 cm in height. The glass will be replaced with satined glass. The lighting will be changed. All fluorescent tubes are daylight tubes. This gives the entire test stand a completely different, very natural effect. Simultaneously are planned every 50 cm horizontally. Exclusively white material will be used except for the Wood Floor. The modulation only results from the change of glossy and matt.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Floors and Walls.
To have a contrast to the bright light cube a oak floor is applied. The facade of the double floor building will be decorated of the same raster as the glass wall with Plexiglas, which is varnished white from the back.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The exclusive use of daylight tubes creates a white, neutral light in which the products are emphasised. The beaming bright character of the stand is endorsed by the use of the highly glossy white Plexiglas. Mirroring produces an almost immaterial character.Luminous building seems to float.Thereby the cube obtain a great effect in the distance.
CHALLENGE: Further Development of the concept of the Fairstand from 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006. Use of the glass girder construction with a new surface. The area of the stand shall seem larger. A new kind of product presentation is in demand. The innovation of this system is that the load-bearing system falls into the background and the cubus is lighting out of itself.
