| DESIGN NAME: Tentacle PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewellery set INSPIRATION: A graffiti art in Piazza Greco,Milan is our designer`s inspiration .Modern graffiti art is not readily accepted as being art like those works that are found in a gallery or a museum at begining.However a lot of graffiti artists`spieces are presented in art exhibition,and being the inspiration of luxury goods now.And the philosophy of my project is try to follow this trend,so she translate it into fine jewellery to break the boundary of these two sides. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: First of all we try to offer more optional in inlay part of jewellery,with this kind of inlay design more flawed gems can be used to product,or you can say enhance the value of low quality gems.The gems are almost covered by the fracted style gold but with lace back.Second , we always want to do some differernt motifs from traditional jewellery brand,it is not flowers,not birds,not animals,it is about ideology. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The most difficult part is gem setting, in this project ,we did the top part and bottom part of each triangle separate and put the glass in the inner space ,then use laser welding for protecting stones. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2014 in Milan and finished in November 2016 in Yiwu. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Technology:Wax curving,Laser welding, Material:Silver,Glas SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The perimeter of each triangle is 75mm TAGS: tentacle,graffiti art,Glass,green RESEARCH ABSTRACT: There is a dilapidated plant near a chapel in the suburb of milan,no wall is empty but with full graffiti-art there.Every sunday our designer Miss Liu passed there and observed them when she had a master course in milan from 2014 to 2015. CHALLENGE: How to solve the problem of gem setting design probably was the biggest challenge in this project.We can not use traditional way to set the gem,and it will be easily broken in that way.Then the suitable size and inexpensive prize vivid green stones are not easy to find for us.
