The design of the HexBOX was inspired by honey bees and their solidarity. In this way, alternative designs consisting of boxes with hexagonal shapes were created.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The HexBOX file cabinet can be formed by increasing or decreasing the number of boxes and in alternative designs, such as single, triple and sextuple, in different width and height dimensions. Storage area for the files or folders in the drawers is not lost and it provides for the facility of usage from above without the user bending over. Esthetically, visual differences can be obtained by using different colors and materials in the drawers, which operate with telescopic tracks.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The HexBOX has sufficient storage capacity as well as esthetic appearance.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The melamine coated fiberboard material, which is possible to be reused and whose wastes are almost completely recyclable, was preferred in the production of the HexBOX. Treenail and dual eccentric fastenings were used in the dual joinings of the lower, upper and angled side flat surfaces of the HexBox, whereas, triangular pieces and triple eccentric fastenings were used in the triple joinings. The cabinet was stabilized by attaching sextuple backs to the tenon cavities, which open to the back parts of the lower, upper and angled side flat surfaces. A metal transparent bag file hanger was placed on the inner sides of the drawers.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Dimensions of the assembled triple HexBOX: 127 cm (w) x 42 cm (d) x 79 cm (h). The pieces for a total of 330 each triple HexBOXes, each with a maximum weight of 38 kg, can be placed and transported in a 20-cubic foot container.

The HexBOX file cabinet can be formed by increasing or decreasing the number of boxes and in alternative designs, such as single, triple and sextuple, in different width and height dimensions. Thanks to the triple eccentric fastenings used for the first time in this design, it has the attribute of being able to be exported easily in a package with the lower, upper and side pieces of the cabinet unassembled and of being able to assemble it at the place of use.
Thanks to the new generation triple eccentric fastenings used in the assembly of the HexBOX, it eliminates the waste of extra materials used in excess with the addition side by side of the present hexagonal boxes and image pollution, which is formed because of the gluing of the flat surfaces at the place of production or with the addition of the wooden or metal parts, which are visible from outside. The triple eccentric fastening has been registered by the Turkish Institute of Patents on behalf of the HexBOX designer with the Patent Registry Number of 2016/04950.
