DESIGN NAME: Andrew
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Faucet
INSPIRATION: We are looking for a strong, minimalist form. Our design language translates into timeless pieces that are always stripped back to their essence, freed from all superfluous elements. For example, the handle is completely integrated into the shape of the tap, which is not just a functional feature but ultimately determines the purity of its form as well. Flow control is instinctive and ergonomic. With its understated allure, Andrew represents the experience of water in its very essence.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Andrew was born from the sense that something was lacking in our search for a contemporary line of taps full of character for our projects. As designers, we have a clear image of the lightness and purity we want. The existing possibilities did not respond to our needs. Working closely with the manufacturer rvb®, we were be able to make our wishes a reality. The handle is completely integrated into the shape of the tap.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The handle is completely integrated into the shape of the tap, which is not just a functional feature but ultimately determines the purity of its form as well. Flow control is instinctive and ergonomic.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in end of 2014, the product was ready for presentation and the retail market in April 2016.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Our research and development department is dedicated to conceiving and fabricating faucets which are ever more resilient and respective of the environment. Ahead of the current growing awareness, the eco-friendly aspect has always been on our agenda. Our sustainable development approach is based on saving water and energy through the use of flow reduction technology and, to a greater extent, to the use of materials which can be indefinitely recycled such as copper alloys.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Finishes in chrome, matte black, matte nickel and colors on request such as matt blue and bronze. Always characterised by a purity of form and rvb®’s reliable quality standard. The single lever washbasin mixer measures 250 mm H and has a spout of 180 mm long. and 39 mm wide. CHALLENGE: Andrew was born from the sense that something was lacking in our search for a contemporary line of taps full of character for our projects. As designers, we have a clear image of the lightness and purity we want. The existing possibilities did not respond to our needs. Working closely with rvb®, we were be able to make our wishes a reality. A strong collaboration between 2 innovative leaders in design was made into a succes story. The design studio, founded in Antwerp in 1998, specialises in interior design and architecture with the associated product design. The designers aim for strong, timeless pieces with a sophisticated and detailed image, always reduced to their pure essence. This intention is encapsulated in every design created by the designers duo.
The Belgian tap manufacturer, since 1935, innovations are based on a constant endeavour to develop original, high-end taps that combine a rigorous selection of refined material such as solid brass with impeccable quality finishes. This is the first collaboration between the designers and the manufacturer
