DESIGN NAME: Future 02
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewellery Collection
INSPIRATION: Compared to other patterns and forms, surely the circle has the most profound relationship with human existence. Our Sun, moon and the planets are, after all, spheres, orbiting in near-circular motion.Circles represent the great themes of life; birth, growth, rebirth, social structure, faith and worship. The collection draws inspiration from the shape of circle and its theorems as defined by Euclidean Geometry, symbolising, in this way a new beginning; a starting point to an exciting future.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Inspired by circle theorems and fully designed in-house, the Future 02 project is a jewellery collection with a fun and vibrant twist. It is the outcome of patience, will of experimentation and hard work, completed using advanced 3D printing technology.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Designed with computer aided design (CAD) software. Created by Selective Laser Sintering, Steel 3D printing technology and traditional silversmithing techniques.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was developed in 2015 and 2016 in Greece, Belgium and France.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: SLS 3D printing technology as well as advanced craftsmanship is used to create the collection. Materials are carefully chosen according to each design. 3D printed nylon and rubber parts together with bookbinding wire and silver .925 wire and elements for the lightweight neckpieces and cuff earrings. 3D printed black or gold-plated steel for the two casual, yet quirky, rings.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: "Try" Ring (Photo 01) 31 mm x 43 mm x 37 mm

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Having a background in physics and only later turned to the world of jewellery and fashion design, 3D printing is the perfect tool to express ideas and emotions in a scientific way. The Future02 collection is carefully designed to visualise Euclidean theorems into patterns and forms of wearable art.
CHALLENGE: Designing on a wide range of material basis.
