| DESIGN NAME: Ofi PRIMARY FUNCTION: Smart automatic water analyzer INSPIRATION: A pool is a flattering place, where aesthetics are essential. Why create objects that we try to hide later. So we imagined a product that is meant to be seen and showed off ! Ofi’s lines fit in perfectly with its environment. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Ofi is a lighted smart device offering a range of 2 models that floats in your pool and analyses the water properties in real time. Simply place Ofi in your pool, and it continually tells you about the state of your water (temperature, pH, chlorine...). Since the water in a pool is constantly changing, Ofi continually analyzes it to warn you if you need to take action. This way you no longer need to endure the chore of manual analysis and prefer preventive rather than curative treatment. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Ofi behaves like an automatic water analyzer that will take care to scrutinize any failure. When all is well, Ofi turns green. On the other hand, if any of the parameters were to be considered incorrect or missing, Ofi will light orange. Finally, if an immediate action is requested, a flaming red will be emitted in order to attract your attention. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Ofi design project was initiated in June 2016 and was presented at the global pool fair in November 2016 before receiving the innovation prize at the French pool trophies in January 2017. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Ofi works on its own with is photovoltaic cell and battery, and only sends you the information you need and tells you which action to take. The analytical algorithms were developed alongside a team of researchers from the CNRS. Ofi monitors the temperature, pH, chlorine/bromine, salt, conductivity, alkalinity, and hardness of your water. But Ofi can also tell you directly the status of your water using the color of its lights. Ofi sends to your smartphone its measurements in real time using Bluetooth and the Sigfox Network. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Ofi Zen can be use on pool with automatic shutter. Ofi Light is the lighted, connected pool analyzer. Ofi are supplied with a calibration and induction recharge receptacle. The four power LEDs are controlled by the application or automatically controlled by the three test probes. Ofi wakes up with every movement of water thanks to is gyroscope, and is automatically recharges with the photovoltaic cell. Made mainly of ABS / PC and PE, Ofi measures 200mm of diameter for 300 mm high. TAGS: water analyzer, smart device, sigfox, light controler, innovation, designed, iot, connected pool analyzer RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The agency is specialized in innovation by uses, so it is a holistic analysis of behaviors, needs, contexts and typologies of swimming pools that we built the Ofi concept. Then we confronted our ideas with the technical problems in order to solve them and propose a lasting and innovative solution focusing on the quality of the experience. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to design an elegant, intuitive, aesthetic, economical product, declining in two versions, and reassuring for all generations of users. A solution adaptable to all swimming pools, filtration systems and all uses (possibility to fix it with the eyelet). Ofi is autonomous and able to inform simultaneously, the user or users who wish to control and check the quality of the bathing water.
