INSPIRATION: The character of water lies in moving and motionlessness. Therefore, how to embody it and absorb it into space naturally have become the key to our design. As a result, we turn both real interior and exterior waterscapes, rooftops, walls and screens and even lightings, artworks, murals and ornaments, etc. into vivid carriers of water. And these objectified images of water can unexpectedly evoke the visitors' inner response to beautiful moments.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Intending to design a building style connected with Wuhan, we conducted a deep research of the local culture. Sparkling ripples in the East Lake after rain inspired the designers and led us to the answer—water. Wuhan is a city linked by rivers, lakes and pools. Water has not only witnessed its development and prosperity, but also nurtured its history and humanity for thousands of years. So we aim to create a natural space with water as the theme.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: After analyzing the history and culture of Wuhan, where is endowed with rivers, lakes and ports, the unique geographical environment inspired us, we finally decided to construct the whole interior space in the theme of ‘water’. From both sides of the entrance to the exterior and interior waterscape, the wave texture of the stone used on the hall lobby wall echoes with its upper horizontal lines, the processing of ceiling, custom-designed screens, artwork, carpets, as well as lamps take ‘water’ in the whole design through different forms, and also the ‘ripple’ implies the influence of the city. By controlling the proportion of different spaces, it forms a sense of rhythm for the whole visiting streamline, elaborately selected colors, materials, furniture, artworks, and LED screens, with sand tables of different scales and forms, completely convey the project’s information and quality to guests.

CHALLENGE: Wuhan is an important inland port city at the Yangtze River located in central China. Its influence covers the whole central China and extends to the southwest. This project is located in Wuhan’s new CBD, and the entire project includes commercial plaza, hotel, office building, luxury residential and apartment. How to reflect the uniqueness and influence of the city in the sales center, and introduce the whole project as far as possible to the guests while conveying the uniqueness of the project, reflecting the quality of the project is the problem which should be solved by the designer.
