| DESIGN NAME: The Residence of Great Amusement PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: Taking into consideration of the client, who is young and extrovert, the designer has planned the principles of design that focus on creating the bright and soothing atmosphere. Different from most of the design styles, in this project, the public area is furnished with white wooden floor. The white wooden floor and the specific green carpet, which is decorated in the living room, have brought into existence the atmosphere as if lying on the grass under sunshine. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The designer, who focuses on the details, deliberately creates minute height difference on the floors between in the living room and in the entranceway, the design skill both for separating the inner and outer space and for collecting dust. The ceiling and staircase windows spill the indoor space with daylight, which is vivid but tender. Without stepping outside, the client appreciates the beauty of blue sky in this residence as well. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In the mezzanine space spilled with daylight and freed from vertical space restraint, the variations of lights and shadows have left the space with remarkable impressions. Following the laughing from children and the greeting among family members, no one is aware of time. The space, in the meantime, has become an indispensable part of life for the family. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Behind the couch is furnished with a specifically designed double-sided cabinet, of which the geometric framework creates an intensive contrast by installing some square yellow storage cases in the black plate framework. The power and attractiveness of the cabinet have brought into existence the dramatic visual effects. Not only has the cabinet become the wall behind the colorful couch, but it also has functioned for storage, the design as if Lego which is full of imaginations for both adults and children. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 270 square meters TAGS: Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Following the sounds of quite footsteps, down to a space filled with sunlight, the family members’ smiles, greetings, and hot coffee at bar have always been a symbol of happiness. The simple and straightforward style breaks down the limits of the space; the space installed with a long rectangular bar implicitly attract group activity and visual concentration. The appropriate decorations and simple contemporary style of the space show the original characteristics throughout sunlight, the atmosphere that is simple, amicable, invigorating, and soothing. CHALLENGE: In the spacious bedroom, the designer has built up a private secured area reserved only for the family. It is a small rest room, which is comfortable and delicate, that makes the whole family members sleep without worries and tensions. The uneven and tender wall surface, decorated for the TV wall, brings the sound of laugh and the entertainment of watching TV in this space, the design creating more life and humanity in a pure white space as if parents raising children with care, which ultimately brings into existence a secured and sweet home.
