| DESIGN NAME: Cocodd PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wedding dress INSPIRATION: The perfect dress excites you when you wear it. It is comfortable, functional, definitely beautiful and original. Cocodd has all these characteristics. It remembers a tasty coconut cocktails in an elegant well decorated cup. Its versatile design satisfied everyone brides desire. The bride has the chance to choose the ideal combination to get the perfect dress through the entire day. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Cocodd is a shaped dress below the knees and completed by a long skirt separately made. The dress straps, the final part of the veil and the skirt edges are enhanced by a particular plumber's tape teflon handmade that create a fray effect. This enhancement can be considered as an innovative fur that not only is it made using a new material but it is also animal friendly. The removibile veil is placed on waist level and has 4 variations of use: on the face, hooked on the shoulders or back into life, or dropped creating a train. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Cocodd is always the perfect outfit thanks to the numerous possibilities of variation. This allow the bride to choose the appropriate combination for any time of the day. It is unique and studied in detail, created with an innovative material (Teflon plumber's tape) worked hand-crochet, and a fabric (scuba / neoprene) from many properties. Cocodd will not be stored into the closet, because the shaped dress below the knees is an elegant solution to wear even after the wedding day. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2016 and finished in November 2016 in Troina, and walked the catwalk in Sposinlove in November 2016 in Catania. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Cocodd is made using Teflon plumber's tape, crocheted to make the shaped dress below the knees, and worked by hand to create a fray effect in the dress straps, the final part of the veil and the skirt edges. The Teflon plumber's tape is water-repellent, does not need to be iron, soft and smooth to touch, fresh and resistant to fire, preventing the fire from spreading. For skirt it was used scuba fabric: durable, flexible, insulating, does not wrinkle, soft, smooth to the touch, is water and UV rays resistant. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This wedding dress is adjustable. For this reason it is good for a woman tall between 165 cm to 175 cm, and size between 38 to 42 (Italian size). An innovation that makes you stand out from other brands. Ambra Castello want to give benefits to her customers, offering a fabric with several qualities. It is suitable for the twenty-first century, because practical. Indeed, doesn't need to be iron, and is also beneficial for the ambient, because clothes can be reused to create new ones. CHALLENGE: The research challenge was to crochet the dress using a material that has never been used to create clothing, such as plumber's tape teflon. In addition, the fringes created with the same material were made by hand. A process that takes time and patience to find the right working technique.
