| DESIGN NAME: SUVAR PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: The inspiration is a Chinese expression “one rafter, one tile”. It pays homage to the traditional way of Chinese etiquette, with one curve and one slanting line, summing up its aesthetic ideal with the minimum artistry, so that the chair acquires a literary style, and attains the height of modern Eastern life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The chair adopts the mortice and tenon structure, with 32 of them in total, and 12 different angles. Tenoning at different angles means to opening holes at different angles, which makes industrialised production impossible; tenoning, hole-opening, assembling, trimming, and polishing all have to be done by hands.
