A recent research I have read showed that most of office workers usually buy a cup of coffee on the way to work, which is easy to scale people’s lip as they can not feel the temperature directly. In order to solve this problem existed, this coffee cup will play a role in the helper which enable people to see the temperature.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Nowadays, people especially office workers like to drink coffee on the way to work. If they can know what temperature they can drink, it may give people good taste and avoid scaling people’s lip. Thus, this design is suitable for them especially for office workers. They can enjoy good taste coffee at suitable temperature with this indicative design.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
When the first logo like fire turns red, it represents that the temperature of coffee is very hot which will scale people. When the middle logo like a coffee cup turns green, it represents that this is the best temperature for drinking. When the third logo turns blue, it shows that the temperature is cold, if you do not like drink cold coffee, you can throw it. In addition, the holding part uses rubber materials, which is easy to hold and isolate the hot for people from the ergonomic aspect.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
This type of coffee cup has triple layer materials. The middle layer uses thermochromism materials that the color will change with the change of temperature. So the three logos shown three different thermochromism materials, whose part of surface layer is wiped off can indicates the temperature. These is an organic material which has been used in some food areas so it is safety to be used in the coffee cup. As for the holding part, this uses rubber so as to make people hold more conveniently.

According to the research, the temperature for best drinking time is 85 ℃ and the temperature people feel cold is lower than 65 ℃. Thus, with these thermochromism materials the temperature can be shown.
During this design process, it is difficult to find suitable material as indicative materials. But with more researches online and in library, the materials can be obtained used in this design project.
