DESIGN NAME: Artistic Cultures and Innovations
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Public space
INSPIRATION: The large components of installation arts have become the main subject that connects the different spatial areas. When walking in to the reception lobby at the entranceway, people shall see a large wood carving, called "homing birds," that is installed at the middle of the back wall.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Locate at the well-developed traffic system and well-prepared life mechanisms, the 25-floor new mansion, in this project, is based on the idea of "the Chinese cultural spirits," from which the designer has brought into existence the one-of-a-kind Chinese cultural style, by implementing simple and contemporary elements in the modern Chinese cultures which are profound with delicate humanity art.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In the garden on the roof floor, the stone-paved floor and wooden chairs bring into existence the relaxing and resting lookout. The tea house, in which the small flowing water, the luxuriant plants and greenery mountain have collaborated an elegant, graceful and comfortable living place in an urbane life.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This wood carving, with features of the sophisticate lines seen from the roots of tweak, and of the tangling coral, the artwork which creates the imagination of birds flying back home, and brings out a symbol presenting people coming back their residences in comfortable emotion. This is of great artistic display in the space.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The recreation area, next to the lobby, is decorated with tree rings on the large cedar that adds splendor to the wood carving. The spectacular aroma of the cedar and the visual stimulation of the old tree rings, creates distinctive experiences of the space from the perspectives of the senses of smell and touch.
CHALLENGE: Extending the essential principles of homing birds and loving home shown by art works on the ground floor, the artist creates the large art work, called "dancing phoenix," on the wall by mixing the precious metals with kaolin made through high temperature, the amazing art work that implies the grand majestic atmosphere in the residence by presenting the image of phoenix.
